James Stephens

I am a PhD student in mathematics at Stanford University. I graduated from Columbia University in May 2025 with a degree in mathematics and physics. My interests are in probability theory and partial differential equations. Here is a brief CV.

In July 2026, at the 4th Simons Math Summer Workshop, I gave a lightning talk on branching-selection particle systems. Slides. In this talk, I claimed a proof of a strong selection principle for a variant of N-BBM. Here is a writeup.
